OCEAN VALOUR 2015 ATLANTIC ROW- THE DOCUMENTARY
On 3rd May 2015, Tom Rainey and Lawrence Walters set out from Manhattan, New York to row 4,100 miles unsupported across the North Atlantic Ocean. The boys never set out to make a documentary of the trip, but we used what footage they managed to capture to create this 20 minute film which documents the journey of two lifelong friends and what led them to tackle the dark and mysterious beast that is the North Atlantic in memory of Tom’s Father Luke, who died from a brain tumour in 2012. After 93 days at sea, the pair raised over £130,000 for the Brain Tumour Charity and broke four world records.
The film is brought to you by Jacob Gibbins (Aspect Media), Ben Walton Films, Edward Vosper (Graphics), and Dan Moran (Colour Grade).
We are happy to say that the documentary was shortlisted in the Sheffield Adventure Film Festival 2020 (SHAFF) and has won silver in the “Spirit of Adventure” category.
